Watch Out for the Space Eaters!
When you think about the word space, what do you think of? Space. We're at an online conference, and we're going to tour this space. Maybe you think about outer space? Maybe you think, “I need some space. I need a break from my kids. I need a break from work. I need some space.”
I want to talk to you for just a few minutes today about space. When I'm talking space, I'm talking about that margin in your life that gives you the ability to think and dream and create. We're going to do something on Facebook in a little bit. The response to my new podcast and blog the last several months has been amazing. You guys have really rallied behind this thing, and you're reading my blogs, reading my articles, and listening to my daily podcast, The Ryan Frank Podcast. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I say that The Ryan Frank Podcast exists to help you think, dream, and create, or think, work, and create like never before.
We're going to do something on Facebook in a little bit, a contest where I'm going to have you share a life hack to help you be productive, because that's what I want to do with the podcast. So be thinking on that. What's a life hack that you do to be productive? My point is, that if you're going to be productive, if you are going to think and work, and create, like never before, which is what I want you to do with the podcast (what I want you to do all the time), you have got to have some space. You have got to have some margin in your life. It's often so difficult to find the time that you need to think and dream, and create. So, how do you find it? I want to talk to you about that.
Before I jump into the practical how-tos, I think we're all aware that there are some margin, some space killers. There are things that keep you from dreaming, some things that keep you from creating, some things that keep you from actually doing. Often those things are fear and insecurity, and what are other people going to think? What I desperately, desperately want for each of you is, I want you to build habits into your life and build systems into your life, where you are thinking and where you are dreaming, and where you are creating, and where you don't really care what other people think. I want you to get beyond your own fears and your own insecurities and your own doubts, and be willing to just go for it.
