Choose to Lead Well

You know, every day we make choices. We make choices from the minute the alarm goes off. Am I gonna hit snooze to am I gonna brush my teeth? I hope you're going to brush your teeth. What clothes am I going to wear today? What route am I gonna take to work? What am I going to work on first? Throughout the whole day, we're making choices. And one choice that leaders often overlook is the choice to lead every day. You and I have to make a choice and that is am I going to lead? Here's the deal. Just because you're given a promotion at work, just because you're given an office, just because you're given a title, just because you've been recruited to do something,  just because you've been given something to oversee does not make you a leader, right? You are only leading as people follow you.

The real test of leadership is, are people following me when there is no position, when there is no title? So here's what I want you to focus on today and that is choose today to lead and lead well, and then tomorrow, choose to lead and lead well, and the next day choose to lead and lead well. Listen, you may have a position, right? There may be people that report to you. You may oversee certain ministries. You may have started a business. I don't know what you do, but I do know this, that every day you have to choose to be the leader that you want to be. It doesn't just come by default. So what do you need to do today to be a better leader? What do you need to start doing? What do you need to stop doing? What do you need to keep doing? Identify those things and then choose to lead well.
